I can only speak from a Pro sound reinforcement viewpoint- IMHO the 1653 a/b were the best Eq's Altec made. Would be using them still except for the size- newer EQ's allow you to fit a lot more channels in a rack.

Hello All,
I've been sitting on a 1653A for a couple of years, I wonder if anyone can tell me if it's a decent EQ or just another lost leader in a sea of wonderfull products. I've never used it, cuz I don't have balanced connects on anything else.
